This year has been an exciting one for me so far! My painting Moonlit Moth (see thumbnail above) has been accepted into the Water Street Studio’s Winter Show (click for more information). The big opening night is Friday, January 18th from 6-9pm and the show runs through March 30th. Most often resident artists also open their studios to show their amazing artwork as well. It promises to be an exciting evening with the Best of Show winner to be announced at 7pm sharp! Hope to see you there!
Also, I was invited to participate in an Artist Critique Group through Water Street Studios that was held in the home of a Batavia art collector. I featured work that I had done prior to my participation at Water Street Studios as well as the new series of work that I have been doing since I’ve been there. What a enlightening experience it was! The crowd was engaged, informative, inquisitive, and open for interesting conversation. Most there felt my new work holds a deeper connection and commitment from my soul into the work. The changes have truly been exciting and I’m looking forward to continuing to pursue textures, hidding imagery, and the challenges of colorization in my work.
A great beginning and hopes that it will continue throughout the year.
